1Introduction & Scope

Welcome to Target CMS ("Target CMS", "we", "our", "us"), operated at targetcms.in. We are India's dedicated preparation platform for the UPSC Combined Medical Services (CMS) examination โ€” created by Dr. Varun Agarwal and Dr. Ritu Agarwal โ€” offering printed books, the CMS Test Series, the Ultra Rapid Revision live course, free PYQ practice tools, the Rank Predictor, mentorship programs and exam-strategy articles.

Your privacy matters to us as much as your rank does. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language:

  • What personal information we collect, and exactly when we collect it;
  • Why we collect it, and what we do with it;
  • Who we share it with (and, more importantly, who we don't);
  • How long we keep it and how we protect it;
  • The rights and choices you have over your own data.

This policy applies to everything on targetcms.in โ€” the store, your account and dashboard, the test engine, live classes, free tools and the blog. By using our website, creating an account or making a purchase, you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the website.

๐Ÿ“Œ In one line: we collect only what we need to teach you, deliver to you and support you โ€” and we never sell it.

3How & Why We Use Your Information

We use your data strictly for the purposes below โ€” every one of them exists to run your preparation smoothly:

  • Order fulfilment โ€” processing payments, packing and shipping your books, and generating invoices;
  • Digital delivery โ€” instantly unlocking the Test Series, Ultra Rapid Revision, recordings, notes PDFs and mentorship in My Account โ†’ Dashboard;
  • Test analytics โ€” computing your scores, All-India Rank, Expected AIR, subject-wise analysis and selection probability, and comparing performance across thousands of aspirants (rank comparisons never expose your personal contact details to other students);
  • Service communication โ€” order confirmations, dispatch & tracking updates, test-date reminders, live-class schedules, schedule-change notifications and account/security alerts. These are transactional and are sent to every customer;
  • Customer support โ€” resolving your queries, refund/replacement requests and technical issues;
  • Marketing (optional) โ€” updates about new books, editions, courses, offers and exam articles. You can opt out anytime โ€” see Section 8;
  • Improvement & research โ€” understanding which topics, tests and articles help students most, in aggregated/anonymised form;
  • Security & fraud prevention โ€” detecting account sharing, payment fraud, content piracy and misuse of the platform;
  • Legal compliance โ€” maintaining records required under Indian tax, accounting and consumer-protection laws.

4Who We Share Data With Never Sold

5Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Here's exactly what we use them for:

TypePurposeExample
EssentialCore functionality โ€” cannot be switched offKeeping you logged in, remembering your cart, securing checkout
FunctionalRemembering your preferencesTest-engine settings, previously viewed products
AnalyticsUnderstanding site usage in aggregateGoogle Analytics โ€” which pages and tests are most used
AdvertisingShowing relevant ads on free contentGoogle AdSense cookies on blog & free tools

Third-party cookies (such as Google's) are governed by those companies' own privacy policies. You can control, block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; note that blocking essential cookies may break login, cart and the test engine. Embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos on our pages) may also set its own cookies when played.

6Data Security

We take the protection of your data seriously and apply reasonable, industry-standard safeguards:

  • Encrypted connections โ€” the entire website runs over HTTPS/SSL, so data travels encrypted between your device and our servers;
  • Secure payment isolation โ€” payments happen entirely on Cashfree's PCI-DSS-compliant systems, never on ours;
  • Hashed passwords โ€” your password is stored in encrypted (hashed) form; even we cannot read it;
  • Access controls โ€” personal data is accessible only to team members who need it to serve you;
  • Monitoring โ€” we watch for suspicious logins, fraud patterns and abuse.

That said, no method of transmission or storage on the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will act promptly to contain it and notify affected users and authorities as required by law. Please also do your part: use a strong, unique password and never share your account (account sharing is also a violation of our Terms & Conditions).

7Data Retention

  • Account data โ€” retained for as long as your account remains active;
  • Order, payment & invoice records โ€” retained as required by Indian tax, accounting and consumer-protection laws (typically up to 8 years), even after account deletion;
  • Test & performance data โ€” retained while your course/test-series access is valid, and thereafter in aggregated or anonymised form for improving our content;
  • Support correspondence โ€” retained as long as reasonably needed to resolve issues and maintain service history.

When data is no longer required, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it.

8Your Rights & Choices

You are always in control of your data. Subject to applicable Indian law (including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 as and when its provisions are brought into force), you may:

  • Access โ€” request a summary or copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct โ€” update inaccurate or outdated details, either from My Account or by writing to us;
  • Delete โ€” request deletion of your account and personal data (we may retain what the law requires us to keep, e.g., invoices);
  • Withdraw marketing consent โ€” unsubscribe from promotional emails via the link in any email, or by writing to us. Transactional messages (order/dispatch/class alerts) will continue as long as you use our services;
  • Raise a grievance โ€” if you believe your data has been misused, contact us and we will investigate.
  1. Email support@targetcms.in from your registered email address with the subject "Privacy Request".
  2. Tell us which right you want to exercise (access / correction / deletion / opt-out / grievance).
  3. We will verify your identity and respond within a reasonable time โ€” normally within 7โ€“15 business days.

9Children's Privacy

Target CMS is built for medical graduates and students preparing for the UPSC CMS examination โ€” an audience of adults. Our products and services are intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal data, please write to us and we will delete it promptly.

10Third-Party Links & Platforms

Our website links to external platforms โ€” including our YouTube channel, Instagram, Telegram community, WhatsApp channel, and marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart. Once you leave targetcms.in, this Privacy Policy no longer applies; those platforms operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. We are not responsible for their practices.

11Changes to This Policy

As our platform grows (new courses, new tools, new features), we may update this Privacy Policy. Whenever we do:

  • The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date at the top;
  • For material changes, we may additionally notify you by email or a website notice;
  • Your continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised policy.

๐Ÿ” Questions About Your Privacy?

Write to us anytime โ€” data requests, grievances or just a doubt about how something works. We usually respond within 24โ€“48 hours.
